6G-PATH co-organises joint SNS JU webinar on security & trust in multi-domain 6G networks

On Tuesday, 2 December 2025, the 6G-PATH project co-organized and contributed to the joint SNS JU webinar “Security & Trust in Multi-Domain 6G Networks”, together with fellow Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) projects ACROSS, NANCY, and RIGOUROUS.

The webinar gathered more than 60 participants from across the European research and innovation community, including technical coordinators, researchers, and industry experts. The event provided a comprehensive overview of current research efforts aimed at strengthening security, trust, and automation in future multi-domain, cloud-native, and AI-driven 6G networks.

Technical highlights from the joint webinar
The webinar showcased complementary approaches from the four SNS JU projects, covering multiple layers of the future 6G security stack:
  • Software-defined security and AI-driven threat detection were presented by the ACROSS project, demonstrating how Network Digital Twins and machine learning can be used to identify Heavy Hitters and DDoS attacks. Real-time mitigation is achieved through SDN-based enforcement using the TeraFlowSDN controller.
  • Zero-trust device and container security, including remote attestation and secure migration, was also highlighted by ACROSS. These mechanisms leverage TPM, IMA, and eBPF technologies to ensure platform integrity and enable trusted workload relocation when nodes are suspected to be compromised.
  • The NANCY project presented advances in quantum-safe and privacy-preserving networking, including results from Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) simulations and testbeds comparing COW3 and COW4 protocols. In addition, NANCY showcased decentralized identity mechanisms based on Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials, as well as a blockchain-based inter-operator marketplace enabling dynamic “micro-operators.”
  • The RIGOUROUS project introduced an end-to-end security lifecycle management framework, from onboarding to enforcement, powered by intent-based policies and a cognitive orchestrator. The integration of federated learning enables privacy-preserving anomaly detection and automated, self-healing security responses across multiple domains.
6G-PATH contribution
As part of the webinar, Tarik Taleb from ICTFICIAL presented MURAL (Multi-Domain Intelligent Resource Orchestration), a key innovation developed within the 6G-PATH project. MURAL is an AI-native orchestration platform that decouples intelligence from enforcement, allowing scheduling and optimization algorithms to be upgraded without disrupting ongoing operations.

MURAL enables developers and operators to interact with complex system logs using natural language and simplifies application development for large-scale, multi-domain cloud and network environments. These capabilities significantly lower the operational complexity of managing future 6G infrastructures while enhancing trust, scalability, and automation.

Advancing trustworthy 6G through collaboration
The joint webinar highlighted the importance of cross-project collaboration within the SNS JU ecosystem to address the multifaceted security challenges of future 6G systems. By combining expertise in AI-native orchestration, quantum-safe communications, decentralized trust, and automated security enforcement, the participating projects demonstrated how secure and trustworthy multi-domain 6G infrastructures can be realized.

6G-PATH warmly thanks its partners from ACROSS, NANCY, and RIGOUROUS for their close collaboration and valuable contributions to this successful event.
