UC Health in the 6G-PATH project: Driving digital healthcare into the future

On 25 August 2025, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (research group geriatrics), MCS Data Labs GmbH, and Fraunhofer FOKUS carried out trials with MSc students from Switzerland (Business Administration – Major Health Economics and Healthcare Management) to validate two innovative healthcare use cases developed within the 6G-PATH project.

Use Case 1 – 3D Hydrogel Patch
The trials tested real-time telehealth tools such as 3D wound scanning, digital documentation through the NurseCareApp (developed by Fraunhofer FOKUS), and hydrogel patch printing aimed at advancing precision care and personalized treatments.

Use Case 2 – Elderly Monitoring
This use case focused on continuous monitoring solutions using wearables (smartwatch developed by MCS Data Labs GmbH), coupled with real-time data visualization and seamless digital documentation via the NurseCareApp.

These hands-on trials provided valuable insights into the application of 6G-enabled healthcare solutions, marking another step towards building a smarter, more connected healthcare ecosystem powered by next-generation technologies.
