6G-PATH UC1-Health Trial Advances Digital Healthcare Innovation Through User Testing

On 11 May 2026, the 6G-PATH project conducted a small-scale trial as part of the UC1-Health use case, focusing on the development and evaluation of the 3D Hydrogel Patch solution and related digital healthcare applications.

The trial involved 13 students from diverse healthcare-related disciplines, including nursing, emergency medical services, laboratory assistance, and radiology assistance. Participants engaged in a hands-on testing session designed to evaluate innovative digital tools supporting wound assessment and documentation workflows.

During the session, participants scanned a wound model and tested the Nurse Care App together with the Wound Analytics solution developed by Fraunhofer FOKUS. The activities focused on wound documentation procedures and the associated 3D processing pipeline, offering valuable practical insights into the usability and effectiveness of the technologies.

To assess the user experience and system performance, participants completed structured questionnaires aimed at measuring feedback and Key Value Indicators (KVIs). The collected data will support the ongoing refinement of both the technical performance and the usability of the solutions under development.

The trial highlights the importance of involving end users early in the innovation process, ensuring that next-generation digital health technologies are designed to meet real-world healthcare needs and user expectations.

Through initiatives such as the UC1-Health use case, 6G-PATH continues to explore how advanced connectivity, XR technologies, and intelligent digital tools can contribute to the future of healthcare services and patient care.

The project consortium extends its sincere thanks to all participants and partners who contributed to the successful implementation of the trial.
