6G-PATH participates in “AI Enables Cybersecurity: The Meetup Event” in Athens, Greece

The 6G-PATH project actively participated in the “AI Enables Cybersecurity: The Meetup Event”, an interactive exhibition and workshop hosted by OTE’s IT Innovation Center in Athens, Greece, on January 14, 2026. The event was co-organised by OTE, the Big Data Value Association, and the VIGILANCE and CyberAid European projects.

The event brought together leading AI and cybersecurity experts from research, industry, startups, and European initiatives, aiming to exchange knowledge, showcase innovative solutions, and explore synergies across research, industry, and policy. Key discussions focused on compliance, cross-sector cyber defense strategies, and the business value and return on investment (ROI) of AI-enabled security solutions.

With more than 700 participants, the event offered a highly interactive environment for networking and collaboration. The audience included cybersecurity professionals, EU project stakeholders, startups, and industry experts, fostering meaningful exchanges of ideas, views, and experiences.

The full-day agenda featured five thematic panel sessions with interactive discussions on critical topics, including:

  • The business value of AI in cybersecurity
  • Collaborative cyber defense in the AI era through data spaces and AI factories
  • Privacy challenges, legal and ethical implications, GDPR compliance, and secure data governance
  • Agentic computing for cybersecurity and data integrity
  • AI-based cybersecurity and the future resilience of financial services

The event also hosted a large-scale exhibition with 51 EU-funded projects and 9 startups, each represented through dedicated booths, roll-ups, banners, and on-screen presentations highlighting their innovative approaches and project results. This exhibition focused on addressing current and emerging market needs in AI-driven cybersecurity.

6G-PATH was represented by the Project Coordinator, Dr. Ioannis Chochliouros (OTE). During the event, the project engaged in fruitful exchanges with several ongoing EU-funded initiatives, including CyberNEMO, TACTIC, CTIS4NIS, CyberSecDome, DeployAI, SecAwarenessTruss, VIGILANCE, and CyberAid. Discussions explored potential future joint actions, as well as experiences related to vertical use cases, KPIs and KVIs, trials and testing activities, B5G-based architectures, AI deployment methodologies, cybersecurity aspects, and business perspectives.

Participation in this event further strengthened 6G-PATH’s engagement with the European AI and cybersecurity ecosystem, contributing to the shared vision of secure, resilient, and intelligent digital infrastructures for the B5G and 6G era.
