6G-PATH holds its 4th plenary meeting in Bucharest, Romania

The 6G-PATH project held its 4th plenary meeting on 27-28 March 2025 in Bucharest, Romania, hosted by Orange Romania. This two-day event gathered project partners to assess progress, discuss key technical developments, and strategize for the upcoming phases of 6G experimentation, trials, and commercialization.

The meeting commenced with a welcome session, setting the stage for discussions on WP4 (Verticals Experiments) and WP6 (6G Trials and Pilots Validation and Evaluation), led by ONE, UBRAD, and OdinS. Each use case was reviewed in detail, focusing on recent advancements, technical implementations, and next steps for trial validation. These discussions provided a solid foundation for further refinement of trial execution strategies. In the afternoon, FOKUS led a session on Task T4.2 (Third-Party Open Calls Testbeds Interfacing and Extensions), presenting how testbeds will be integrated and expanded through the 6G-PATH Open Calls. Following this, ITAV presented insights into Task T5.3 (Tutorials and Third-Party Training) under WP5 (Cascade Funding and Training to Third-Parties), outlining training methodologies and capacity-building efforts aimed at external partners. The day also featured a session on WP7 (Dissemination, Commercialization, and Standardization) by eBOS, emphasizing the project’s outreach strategies and engagement with key stakeholders. This was followed by a session on WP5, presented by F6S, highlighting funding mechanisms and training support for third-party partners.

The second day opened with a conclusion of the discussion regarding  the 6G-PATH Open Calls. This was followed by a WP1 (Project Management) session, led by OTE, which focused on administrative coordination and risk management to ensure smooth project execution. Later, UMA and ORO provided an update on WP3 (6G-PATH Experimentation Environment), detailing progress on testbed infrastructure development and their alignment with the project’s objectives. A dedicated session on WP3 Key Innovations and Component Status, presented by UMA, FOKUS, and eBOS, explored the status of technological advancements and the integration of novel 6G capabilities. The meeting concluded with closing remarks, summarizing key takeaways and defining priorities for the next phase of the project.

With productive discussions and valuable exchanges, the 6G-PATH consortium continues to drive innovation in 6G experimentation, trials, and commercialization. The partners remain committed to achieving the project’s objectives and look forward to the next steps in its development.
