6G-PATH at NESXR’26 Workshop – IEEE VR 2026
On 21 March 2026, Karlstad University, a key 6G-PATH partner, presented an overview of the 6G-PATH project at the 1st International Workshop on Networking and Sensing for the Metaverse and Multi-user and Social XR Environments (NESXR’26), held as part of IEEE VR 2026 in Daegu, South Korea.
The workshop, co-organised by 6G-PATH, brought together researchers, industry experts, and XR/Metaverse developers to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in next-generation networking, sensing, and multi-user immersive environments. The session offered a unique platform to showcase the contributions of SNS JU projects to advancing 6G research and experimentation.
During the presentation, Dr Mohammad Rajiullah from Karlstad University highlighted the 6G-PATH project’s structure and objectives, its large-scale pilots and testbeds across Europe, and real-world validation activities in sectors such as smart cities, education, healthcare, and precision farming. The session also emphasized how advanced technologies, like network slicing, edge computing, and AI-driven adaptation, are being tested and validated in real-world environments to accelerate the deployment of 6G systems.
The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and dissemination of the 6G-PATH project outcomes to a global audience of researchers and industry stakeholders.
