University of Málaga Presents 6G-PATH Smart Farming Trials at VI Observatorio 5G

On 2 July 2025, the 6G-PATH project was featured at the VI Observatorio 5G, an event organised by El Español that brought together key industry and academic stakeholders to discuss the current state and future of 5G and 6G in Spain.

Almudena Díaz, representing the University of Málaga, a core partner in the 6G-PATH consortium, participated in a high-level round table alongside experts from Telefónica, Nokia, Orange, and the European Commission. The round table focused on ensuring that the next generation of connectivity reaches all companies and sectors across Spain and Europe.

During the discussion, Almudena introduced the 6G-PATH trials taking place at the Experimental Farm La Mayora, a facility of the Institute for Subtropical and Mediterranean Horticulture (IHSM-CSIC-UMA). These trials are focused on smart farming use cases, leveraging advanced 5G and 6G technologies to enable precision agriculture, real-time monitoring, and data-driven farming solutions.

The participation of 6G-PATH in events like the Observatorio 5G highlights the project’s commitment to collaboration, innovation, and real-world impact in driving forward Europe’s digital transformation.
