MEI-6G: Immersive Education for Rural Classrooms

The MEI-6G project addresses the educational divide between rural and urban regions by bringing immersive XR learning environments to underserved schools in Romania. The project adapts ProVerse’s XR-based education platform into a scalable digital classroom solution enhanced with AI-guided mentoring and real-time analytics.

By leveraging advanced 5G and Beyond 5G capabilities through the Orange 5G Lab testbed, the project enables low-latency XR streaming, edge-based content delivery, and adaptive learning experiences. Students participate in immersive science and health-related learning modules while teachers receive real-time insights to support personalized instruction.

The project validates both technical performance and educational impact under real-world conditions. Network latency, streaming stability, and AI responsiveness are measured alongside student engagement and learning outcomes.

MEI-6G demonstrates how next-generation connectivity can transform public education, supporting inclusion, improving academic performance, and creating a scalable model for future 6G-enabled learning environments across Europe.
