DroneLab XR
Immersive UAV & HRC Training over 6G Edge
Training in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operations and Human–Robot Collaboration (HRC) is often constrained by high equipment costs, stringent safety regulations and limited access to specialized laboratory infrastructure. DroneLabXR addresses these barriers through an immersive extended-reality (XR) training environment that enables learners to develop UAV and HRC competencies in realistic, mission-based simulations. The approach reduces reliance on physical drones while enhancing scalability, accessibility and training safety.
At the core of the project is a serious game designed for UAV education, structured around progressive skill acquisition: beginning with fundamental flight control and advancing toward autonomous mission planning and multi-agent swarm coordination. Each mission integrates assessment rubrics and real-time telemetry, enabling instructors to monitor learner performance, generate analytics and deliver targeted feedback.
The integrated learner–system–educator ecosystem will operate over a 6G network infrastructure, supporting high-fidelity interaction, low-latency data exchange and advanced performance monitoring. This setup will also enable benchmarking against existing 5G communications, providing comparative insights into network capabilities for next-generation UAV and HRC training environments.
