CSIC and UMA represent 6G-PATH at Water Efficiency Seminar in Spain

On 24 October 2024, 6G-PATH project partners Consejo Superior De Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and Universidad de Málaga (UMA) took part in a key seminar titled “Efficient Use of Irrigation Water in Tropical Crops under Conditions of Scarcity.” The event gathered around 100 attendees, including representatives from public research institutions, private agro companies, innovation departments of bank foundations, and the region’s leading cooperative of tropical crop growers, TROPS.

As part of this clustering activity, Juan M. Losada (CSIC) and Almudena Díaz (UMA) presented the FARM1-Water Saving Use Case, highlighting how advanced 5G-6G technology from the 6G-PATH project can enhance water-use efficiency in the irrigation of tropical fruit crops. The attendees expressed strong interest in these innovative solutions, underscoring the potential for technology to address pressing water scarcity challenges in agriculture.

This seminar provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate with local research institutions, such as IFAPA-Málaga, and private sector partners, fostering further exploration of sustainable agriculture practices.
