6G-PATH Successfully Demonstrates Smart Viticulture Pilot in Portugal
On 23 April 2026, the 6G-PATH project successfully demonstrated its UC FARM 2 – Smart Viticulture use case at Filipe Palhoça Vinhos, Portugal, bringing together around 40 participants, including viticulturists and technical experts.
Organised by TerraviewOS and OneSource in collaboration with COP-PILOT, AGRARIAN and AVIPE, the event showcased how advanced connectivity, edge computing, drones, and smart sensing technologies can support more efficient and sustainable vineyard management.
Key demonstrations included:
- Drone-based vineyard health monitoring with edge processing
- Growth monitoring, yield estimation, and disease detection tools
- Aquaview analytics integrated with soil moisture sensors via LoRaWAN
- Precision pesticide machinery and ground robotics demonstrations
The pilot highlighted the benefits of 5G/6G-enabled edge intelligence, enabling faster data processing, reduced cloud dependency, and improved real-time decision-making directly in the field.
This successful demonstration marks another important milestone for the 6G-PATH project in advancing innovative smart farming solutions for the agriculture sector.
