On 28 June 2024, our project partners, FOKUS and Charité, presented a significant paper at the 4th IEEE International Conference on ICT Solutions for eHealth (ICTS4eHealth 2024). The paper, titled “5G Wound Management System for Remote Areas”, was featured under the ‘Infrastructure Optimization for eHealth Applications’ session.

This research showcases a Beyond 5G solution design specifically for the telehealth use case of wound management within the 6G-PATH project. The innovative prototype aims to establish a testbed that combines connectivity with advanced eHealth applications, set to be evaluated by field nurses.

The key objective of this prototype is to substantially lower the costs associated with treating patients in remote areas, thus removing the necessity for clinic visits.
